Refund Policy

See it before you buy it

Every Bookarino book starts with a free preview — the cover and one inside page — so you can see your child in the story before you pay a single cent.

Our guarantee: if the book isn't right, we refund it

Because each book is personalised and printed on demand for one specific child, we can't accept returns or exchanges of a correctly produced book. Instead, we give you this guarantee: if there is anything genuinely wrong with your book, we will refund you in full. You do not need to send the book back. That covers:

  • a book that arrives damaged;
  • a printing or binding fault — misprinted or missing pages, a binding fault, a colour defect;
  • a mistake we made in the name, the dedication or the story;
  • a likeness that misses the mark — if the child in the finished book does not look like the child in the photo you sent, that is covered, even if you saw it in the preview before you paid;
  • a book that is lost in transit (see our Shipping Policy).

We refund the book — we do not offer a reprint or a remake instead.

What isn't covered

  • a mistake in the details you entered yourself — for example a misspelled name — that also appeared in the preview you saw before you paid. Tell us anyway: if your book has not yet gone to print we will fix it for free;
  • ordinary wear after delivery;
  • small colour differences between your screen and the printed page.

Cancelling or changing an order

Email us as soon as you can. If your book has not yet gone to print, we will change or cancel it and refund you in full. Once printing has started the order can no longer be changed or cancelled — but the guarantee above still applies to anything that is actually wrong with the finished book.

United Kingdom — your legal right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the usual 14-day right to change your mind does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised — a Bookarino book is both. Nothing on this page reduces your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and those rights stand alongside our guarantee, not instead of it.

United States

There is no general right to return a personalised item once it has been made; a Bookarino book is personalised with your child's name and photograph from the moment it goes to print. Nothing on this page reduces the rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the state you live in.

How to claim

Email info@bookarino.se within 30 days of delivery, with your order number. A photo of the problem helps, but if you cannot send one, tell us what is wrong and we will sort it out. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, normally within 5 business days of us agreeing the claim.

Complaints

If we have not put something right to your satisfaction, say so in a reply and it will be read by a person, not a template. UK customers may also contact Trading Standards (via citizensadvice.org.uk) on a consumer-rights complaint, or the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) on a data-handling complaint. US customers may contact their state attorney general or the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov).
